Right burner sparked over and over without ever catching, happened right as we were prepping dinner for guests. Igniter had shifted out of position, adjusted it and it lit on the first try after.

A burner that sparks without lighting, or one that won't back off from full heat, usually comes down to one small part. We track it down fast, often the same day you call.
Whatever sits in your kitchen, we've likely serviced one just like it.
Gas
Open flame burners, visible grates
Electric Coil
Classic round coil elements
Smoothtop
Flat glass surface, radiant heat
Induction
Flat glass surface, magnetic heat
Tap a symptom below to see what's usually causing it.
Clicks or sparks but the gas never catches. Often an igniter that's slightly out of position, or a clogged orifice stopping the spark from reaching the gas.
One burner runs at full heat no matter the setting. Usually a stuck infinite switch controlling that burner, not a fault with the element itself.
A rapid clicking that never actually lights the burner. Usually moisture or debris inside the igniter module, stopping a reliable spark.
A single element stays cold while the rest work fine. Usually an internal break in that element, visible once it's inspected closely.
Won't click into any of the marked settings anymore. Usually a worn detent spring inside the knob assembly, not the burner or valve.
Burning yellow instead of blue, or uneven around the ring. Often a partially clogged burner port, worth checking before assuming a bigger issue.
